#WriterNetwork #BookBuzz – ‘Keeper of the Watch’ by Kristen L Jackson

During this past year, I have met a lot of fiction writers, both online and in real life.  At the outset, I didn’t expect more than a few passing comments, and perhaps some sharing of ideas or critiques in the online groups – which means I’d seriously underestimated how likable, positive and supportive some of these people would be.

For example, a few months ago, I wrote about Mark Dawson’s release of ‘Phoenix‘, to raise funds for medical treatment.  And it is with great pleasure that I post this second #PeerPromo about a new release by an author who has proven herself as an active and positive influence in my writer network.

Kristen L Jackson’s novel, ‘Keeper of the Watch‘, is set for release on February 1, 2018.  It 51TLa2zUJbL._SX331_BO1,204,203,200_is a Young Adult science fiction / fantasy novel, and the first novel in Jackson’s Dimension 7 series.

The story features Chase Walker, an eighteen year old who explores the mystery of his uncle’s old watch, and is introduced to a world of intrigue and suspense.

Editorial reviews listed on the book site include:

“Kristen Jackson’s clever YA debut KEEPER OF THE WATCH is a treat for science fiction fans of all ages. Jump from one dimension to another with main character, Chase Walker, as he unravels the mystery of a magical watch that has been in his family for generations. The plots takes lots of exciting twists and turns when Chase encounters an attractive, time-traveling, watch-wearing girl named Alyx and a budding romance ensues. No spoilers here! Just read this fun, original book for yourself!” – Heather Christie, Author of ‘What the Valley Knows’.

“Jackson touches all the themes we want to see: escape, pursuit, danger, and suspense. One of the best of the genre I have read. Looking so forward to the next book in the series.”

– John Vance, author of ‘Tick Cooper’ and ‘A Bench by Memory Lake’

“… Keeper of the Watch is the story of Chase Walker, a young man who discovers that he is destined to be a Keeper, the guardian of a watch that allows him to travels through each of the 12 dimensions of Earth. Chase is joined by Alys, a Keeper from an alternate dimension, whose job it is to guide him along his voyage of discovery.

81YFdICjdOLThis is one of the most original storylines I have come across in quite some time, and Jackson has done a marvelous job creating a universe the reader can very easily fall into. Her character development is well-crafted, and her pace of story (usually a weakness of newer authors) is quite rapid, but not rushed. Jackson’s talent in bringing this story to life is refreshing, and this is one series I’m highly anticipating continuing to its conclusion.” – Steve T., Book Reviewer

“With a perfect melding of realistic action, mystery, and fantasy, Keeper of the Watch is one heck of a YA novel. Featuring energetic and courageous female and male lead characters and a style that flows as rapidly as the Colorado River, Kristen Jackson touches all the themes we want to see: escape, pursuit, danger, and suspense. One of the best of the genre I have read. Looking so forward to the next book in the series.” – John Vance, author of ‘Tick Cooper’ and ‘A Bench by Memory Lake’.
